Giles Quarme & Associates are pleased to announce that their repair and restoration of the magnificent Glynde Place in Sussex was awarded an RICS award for conservation.

Glynde Place is a beautiful Grade I listed Elizabethan mansion overlooking the South Downs. The project included re-ordering the house to make it suitable for 21st century life, whilst allowing it to remain home to the same family that have lived there for over 500 years. The work involved the comprehensive internal and external restoration of the building, including working closely with specialist craftsmen to totally dismantle and reconstruct the bay windows on the front elevation that were on the brink of collapse.

Historic England said of our proposals ‘This is a meticulously considered and well-presented proposal to bring the whole of Glynde Place back into active use’.
